Anyone else familiar with the sean-nos style of singing? I learned a few songs when I was at Evergreen State College(in Olympia WA.) during the Irish Experience program. Also, some friends of mine and I are looking for ceilis in the Bay area...any leads? Go Raibh Maigh Agat!

Not entirely traditional Irish ceilis happen every Monday night in Berkeley, at the Starry Plough on Shattuck two blocks off from Ashby Ave (13).

There's a brand-new Tuesday night ceili in Los Altos, CA, at St. Stephen's Green Irish Pub. Check the listings for this tribe for the details.

Both places have dance lessons starting at 7:00 ($5.00), then open (called) dancing from 9 PM until roughly 10:30.
